From sparkling harbours and superyachts, Sydney has it all

We’re in Australia this week, supporting a client at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.

When it comes to waterfront locations, Sydney is hard to beat.

With a mix of dramatic architecture and contemporary style, this energetic city has something to suit every type of event. Here are just five of our favourites.

1. Pier One

This stylish waterfront venue has become one of Sydney’s most popular thanks to the spectacular panoramic views from every room.

The 250-capacity Bridge Room and Marquee boast incredible views of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. The 350-capacity Water Room allows guests to gaze over the Harbour and Luna Park. And the flexible Dawes Point Room, which can be configured to create up to seven separate rooms of varying sizes to accommodate between 40 and 310 people, benefits from a spectacular backdrop of the Walsh Bay.

2. Beachside Dojo

Dojo means ‘meeting place’ in Japanese. Here, beachfront style meets contemporary elegance in a calm oasis.

Three architecturally-designed rooms have been carefully curated to create unique event spaces, providing alfresco areas as well as stylish interiors that can accommodate up to 250 guests in total.

Choose from the Sunrise Dojo, set high above Manly Beach and with sweeping views of the landscape below, the more intimate Northern Dojo, with its stunning outdoor balcony or the sun-drenched private dining room with 180-degree views over the water.

3. Urban Winery

Sydney’s first urban winery is located in the Entertainment Quarter and transports guests to the vineyards of New South Wales courtesy of its fully functional winery, cellar door, wine bar and multifunctional event space.

The urban home of the ‘A.Retief’ wine label, the facilities allow up to 250 guests to dine among the wine barrels and take part in experiences such as wine tasting, food pairing, grape stomping and blend-your-own-wine sessions.

4. The Mint

Built between 1811 and 1816 as the southern wing of the Sydney Hospital, The Mint is the oldest surviving public building in Sydney’s central business district. Famously financed with 45,000 gallons of rum, it became known as the ‘Rum Hospital’ before a coining factory was built on the site in 1854.

Today, The Mint houses the impressive ‘Caroline Simpson Library and Research Collection’, a stylish restaurant and bar with various event spaces which can accommodate from 10-100 people.

5. The Jackson

The ultimate in luxury, where better to soak up Sydney’s iconic harbour sights than on the water itself.

The Jackson is an elegant superyacht, with three beautifully-designed levels all providing exclusive drinking and dining experiences, as well as uninterrupted views across the harbour’s shimmering water to the lights of the shoreline.

Whether you hire the rooftop cocktail bar (75 capacity), the versatile events deck (250 capacity) or the entire vessel (700 capacity), this is a space with the wow-factor and jaw-dropping views to match.
