The
BRIEF.
Airmic was the first of our clients to pivot to virtual during the Covid-19 pandemic.
As a not-for-profit global community of 1400 professionals working in roles involving risk management and/or insurance, Airmic wanted to ensure their first virtual conference was as engaging as an in-person event.
Our brief was to help Airmic:
- Create a virtual platform and shape an engaging agenda to showcase thought leadership and facilitate peer-to-peer discussion.
- Provide delegates with over 60 hours of accredited Continued Professional Development (CPD).
- Strengthen partnerships and affiliate relationships with exhibitor and sponsorship packages.
- Bring together the Airmic community on a personal level as well as a professional level.
THE
SOLUTION.
An engaging
virtual world
We created a bespoke virtual event platform with an engaging agenda offering three days of digital content and virtual networking.
We ensured delegates could easily log into the platform and choose the sessions which were of most interest to them. From keynote livestreamed speaker sessions showcasing thought leadership, to panel discussions championing the strategic value of risk management and insurance, and from seminars to breakout sessions, Airmic members came together to learn from each other.
A ‘Knowledge Hub’ offered bite-sized talks, alongside a ‘Learning Library’ where delegates could download resources and watch pre-recorded content on demand.
Looking after mind and body, we created a ‘Wellness Centre’ and wellness activities were woven into the agenda. Each of the three days kicked off with a 15-minute ‘Rise &Shine’ yoga flow and each afternoon session began with a 7-minute fitness challenge.
Over 60 hours
of CPD
Over the three-day conference, 60 sessions gave delegates the opportunity to record over 60 hours of CPD.
The event welcomed a diverse range of speakers from leading organisations such as Google, GSK, Dyson, Tesco, Thames Water, BT, Vodafone, Fujitsu, Coca-Cola, Deliveroo, Marriott Hotels, easyJet, BP, KPMG and Standard Chartered.
We set up a live broadcast studio at the Crowne Plaza Marlow to host a number of the speakers, as well as bridging in other speakers remotely from 18 countries around the world. The Live Group team offered coaching to all speakers, ensuring maximum confidence ahead of their presentations.
Strong partner
relationships
A rich exhibitor and sponsorship presence strengthened Airmic’s partnerships and affiliate relationships.
Insurers and Reinsurers, Insurance Brokers and Services, Claims and Legal Providers, Risk Management Services, Technology Providers, Media, Associations and Charities sat side by side in an ‘Exhibitor Zone’ on the event platform.
The agenda included dedicated time each day for delegates to interact with exhibitors and sponsors, in addition to all three of the evenings featuring sponsored events.
A connected
community
As the annual conference is Aimic’s flagship event, it was important to bring together the Airmic community on a personal level as well as professional.
To bring together subsets of the delegation, agenda items such as leadership breakfasts and daily special interest group (SIG) meetings, enabled like-minded members to connect. Live Q&As within the majority of sessions encouraged peer-to-peer discussion. And a ‘Networking Zone’ within the event platform made it easy for members to connect and chat with each other, with time for networking highlighted on the agenda and further opportunities to enjoy each other’s company during the evening entertainment.

The HAPPY
CLIENT.
It’s gone better than our wildest dreams. Everybody thought it was courageous to do a digital event but, working with Live Group, it’s been great. The delegates loved the content and remarked how slick it’s been. Once you’ve got the right team on board, you can do anything!
