Sustainable Solutions: Procurement and Disposal Road Show
Given the publication of the Sustainable Task Force Report in June 2006, it is clear that we in the public sector need to consider how we can improve our approach to sustainable procurement.
To aid this process, OGCbuying.solutions and the MOD’s Disposal Services Agency (DSA) will be running a series of road shows across the UK. The Regional Centres of Excellence (RCEs) will also be involved and together we have developed a programme, specifically for our public sector colleagues, which will raise awareness of sustainable procurement issues and provide information and examples of good practice.
The Sustainable Solutions: Procurement and Disposal Road Show is being run as a morning session at nine different locations across the country.
The morning session is relevant to all involved in public sector procurement and, with the exception of Glasgow, will be followed by an afternoon session which is aimed specifically but not exclusively at local government. These sessions will be delivered jointly by the RCEs and the Society of Purchasing Officers (SOPO).
At each show there will also be a small exhibition of carefully selected OGCbuying.solutions and DSA suppliers, who can offer advice and guidance on their sustainable products and services.
