Personalising CPD: leading CPD into the future

The overall aim of the conference is to share the outcomes of Connect’s ‘Personalising CPD’ project which has been running for the past two years. It is for leaders of professional learning (CPD leaders and Headteachers) in schools and local authorities.

The specific aims of the conference are:
- To learn from others’ experiences of personalising the CPD offer
- To support your role as leader of professional learning through practical examples of successful strategies
- To share strategies of implementing national policy such as the revised professional standards and new performance management requirements and their impact on professional learning
- To understand the national picture of CPD policy and practice
- To refresh understandings of effective strategic CPD practice based on research

The conference will provide the opportunity to:
- Listen to keynote speakers
- Question an expert panel
- Share your work and explore issues of professional learning by working with other CPD leaders
- Learn how others have been developing their work on professional learning
- Reflect on the future of professional learning
- Meet key GTC staff and find out more about our support for teacher learning through the professional networks and Teacher Learning Academy

This will be achieved through a mix of:
- learning conversations run by a practitioners working in schools and Local Authorities
- formal presentations
- activities and group work

There is no cost for attending the conference and standard travel costs will be paid for Connect members and supply cover costs up to £135 for Connect members where these are incurred..
